You are right, I checked it from another PC on my network and everything does show up.

It must have something to do with the iexplorer settings in my new sony laptop.

I can see you have made a test page but if I try to edit it the text has gone. both the html and design tabs are empty

Yes, but I had also turned that off.

have 755 permissions as per instalation instructions, which means no 'write' permission

/content/images has 777

I have the same problem. After saving the text in either html or design I can view the result. This would mean that there is no 'writing' error? it's only when I go back to the text to edit it that is is missing!!
