Some of the pages do not appear the same "cross-browser". Columns are not maintained in Firefox (as opposed to IE6). For example:
http://www.adoptionsportalen.se/index.php?adopt
http://www.adoptionsportalen.se/index.php?organisation

Location of "Engelska" is quite different between browsers.
http://www.adoptionsportalen.se/shopping/

Also this link is not showing up in my IE6 for some "javascript" reason:
http://www.adoptionsportalen.se/index.php?fotogalleri

AdoptionsForum banner does not show up in my Firefox 1.5.0.7 for any of the pages of the site.

It is strange DeXXus. Anyone more have same problem? I run IE6 and IE7 in windows vista, and all works for me. But sometime that poll, and “fotogalleri” can take same time to load.

AdoptionsForum banne its flash stuff, have you installed flash player? :wink: I guess you have but I don’t know what ells it can be

“Shopping” its not ready for other languages then Swedish so if you change languages its sows different (not just text, but also other stuff)

My bad for this one. It seems that closing all instances of IE6 and returning there... NOW shows the gallery, FINE! Sorry, about that one.

I'm still experiencing the others, for some reason and I do have Flash installed (even tried FF in "Safe" mode). But, I could have something unique about my browser setups (because I install plugins & extensions.

Thank you DeXXus for you take your time to find bad pages first of al.

Well, that fotogalleri use iframe in article on phpwcms, and believe that’s some time mess around with loading fotogalleri pages.

Anyway, screenshots 1: I didn’t know that. I guess its something with "list.tmpl".
And that "?" (banner) its strange, because its shows in "screenshots 5"

Screenshots 2: seems to be same problem as screenshots 1, with "list.tmpl".

Screenshots 3: That’s normal, if you change languages to English.

Screenshots 4: That’s strange; seem to be something with English language file.

Screenshots 5: That’s "normal": because that poll stuff sometimes shows and some time not. When it not loaded normal that banner "take that polls places". (That poll also use iframe as fotogalleri).

Screenshots 6: same problem as screenshots 5.

Screenshots 7: What wrong in here? Btw, its seem to be that you use higher screen stuff that 1024 x 768.? (its just for 800x600 and 1024 x 768.)

Screenshots 8: same problem as screenshots 5 and 6. (With that poll-iframe-stuff)

Screenshots 9: same problem as screenshots 5 and 6 and 8. (With that poll-iframe-stuff).

Well, many fix and stuff to do so all works perfect. Btv, have you tested those e-card stuffs? I have problem with it because all –card sends to trash folder in hotmail. If someone have hotmail, I am glad you can test sending to your self for see if its work.

Many thanks again DeXXus for you take your time. Hope you find some more "ugly pages"

You're welcome. You stated you weren't getting any feedback... I jumped on it. :P

You are probably right about it being "fussy". But, it IS working and I'm sorry to not have been more thorough. :oops:

It is something to do with the "empty" elements shown in this screenshot:

Screenshot 1 is Firefox...screenshot 5 is Internet Explorer. (that is the problem).

Yes, again something to do with the "empty" elements shown in this screenshot:

Stim wrote:Screenshots 3: That’s normal, if you change languages to English.

Screenshots 4: That’s strange; seem to be something with English language file.
I'm talking about the position (placement). #3 is underneath "din kommun" button, but #4 is under "Photogalleri" button.
Stim wrote:Screenshots 5: That’s "normal": because that poll stuff sometimes shows and some time not. When it not loaded normal that banner "take that polls places". (That poll also use iframe as fotogalleri).

Screenshots 6: same problem as screenshots 5.
This could be becaue I block cookies in Internet Explorer, but not in FireFox. Then Screenshots 7, 8 & 9 would be for the same reason.
Stim wrote: Btw, its seem to be that you use higher screen stuff that 1024 x 768.? (its just for 800x600 and 1024 x 768.)
Yes, using 1280x1024. But, that is not the reason for polls missing. Maybe cookies...(didn't try to turn them on).

Nope, that feature has no "appeal" to me, so I don't know/use it. Sorry!

NO! It is a nice job and I MEAN that. Just those damn browser differences. :wink:

Ooops...BTW:

Little thing here in "menubar.css". I ~think~:

Code: Select all

  background-color: #transparent;
should be:

Code: Select all

  background-color: transparent;

Okay further digging brings up possible reasons for poll "flakiness":

"http://www.adoptionsportalen.se/pollphp/poll_2.php"
Warning: missing <!DOCTYPE> declaration (this might put IE into wrong mode)
Also little validator error:
line 6 column 5 - Warning: <style> isn't allowed in <td> elements

Code: Select all

<html>
<body>
<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="1" bgcolor="#FFFFFF">

Hello DeXXux.

What is that on the last Quote, with all that warning above? Do you see that on pages? And what is that on the 2 last screenshot, to left on the images and that empty space? Do you really see all that shit? Oboy, now I really confused.

What browser version and screen resolution do you use for every pages? I have to download and test it myself.

And once again thanks. Don’t worry about that "dug so deep into my business". Its just good to know all ugly think who can happens.

Yes, it was some problem with list .tmpl with firefox for some of those columns.

It most be like this:

Article 1: Left
Article 2: Right
Article 3: Left
Article 4: Right

But for some of those pages those columns had

Article 1: Left
Article 2: Right
Article 3: Right
Article 4: Right

Very easy to do mistake with column stuffs. Do you still see empty elements now? I tested with firefox, IE, and with 3 different screen resolution: 800x600 , 1024x768 and 1152x864 now, and seem be works just fine. I cold not see something like that 2 last screenshot with firefox, version 1.5.0.1.

That is -some- of the warnings output by one of my Firefox extensions (called HTML Validator) from just that one page, but many share the same warnings. Some of what it says is Firefox "working around" some of the errors in your pages.

Those last 2 screenshots show what another Firefox extension (named X-Ray) reveals. It just shows the basic elements of a page, "super-imposed" over the actual page rendering. Just another troubleshooting tool for quick study of a page. I use a lot of FF extensions related to web development.

I have a few... IE6.0.2900.2180 , FF1.5.0.7, Opera9.02 ,IE7.0.5730.11
I run at 1280x1024 (fits more on the screen)
