Newest children actions in the forum... :-(

Post by jscholtysik »

Hi all,

now we have also lost pico as a valuable member of this forum because of dissensions between the master OG and pico.

IS THIS THE WAY OF THE FUTURE TO HANDLE THE MEMBERS OF THIS FORUM?

I can't believe it !!! What are these for children actions? Deleting threads and closing accounts... :-( Is this the only way to communicate with the members??

Some of us are very interested in bringing phpwcms a little bit further than one person can do alone, but the help is not appreciated. Why?

Please OG, this is not the right way when you kill the main members or their threads that support this forum every day again and again like pico and frold has also done!

This is not the meaning of a community!

YOU SHOULD SPEAK TO YOUR COMMUNITY AND DECLARE YOUR PLANS IN A MORE OPEN WAY.

IS THIS TOO MUCH TO DO?

In which direction goes phpwcms? Already down the cliffs?

AGAIN A BAD DAY FOR THIS FORUM!!!

SAD, SAD, SAD ... :-(

Hallo Freund,

Zugegeben : Was wären wir ohne phpWCMS???

Andererseits : Was wäre phpWCMS ohne poweruser???

Eigentlich ist das ja schon bedauerlich, oder?

Joachim

For our english friends:

Hi pepe,

in my opinion the forum is now mantained only by 20-30 (power) users, and two are already gone. Sad, isn't it?

Really it is boring to answer on such questions. And I don't like when people are crying for an answer.

What I have done and often told is that phpwcms is still alive - and will become better than ever. But that's all. There is no roadmap nor more to say. What I want is a secure and modern implementation. Not that hacking stuff I have seen often. I do not have time to check each hack!!!

It's becoming better in June because I have quit my well paid job - and really - I wasn't fired. Isn't this enough? Support my work or save my income! This is a one man show (at the moment). I do not want to discuss each step with the whole community.

One word to Frold: this was the best for the community to cancel his account to be a moderator.

And Pico might be very interested in bringing the project forward. But it does not help to try to build a fork. I will fight against those ideas. And everybody must know: such project has nothing to do with phpwcms and must be named completely different. I'm angry about the usage of name and artwork. That's why I had set his account inactive - but after getting an answer from Pico his account was re-activated.

What other user's account is closed? There is none!

Believe me or not. I'll go my way.

Mmmm,

I do like to help on phpwcms, but if it's a one man job, Oliver, then it is only normal I help people who want it.

:? this whole situation is not good.

If u allow me I'll post later what I think.

All best

Please don't misunderstand what I want to say. It's hard to find the right words. I have something in mind regarding the development of phpwcms but I don't or better should not share everything with the community. The best at the moment is to finalize what I have started.

You know the German saying "Zuviele Köche verderben den Brei"? Have a look at all those other "open developer/community" projects.

Hi OG,

who told us often enough that he does not want to have financial support because of dependencies in the direction of publishing roadmaps or similar or being bondaged?

There were so many inquiries so that we could create a fund to support you financially.

Not only you have creative ideas, but also the community. There are so many good ideas by people of the forum, but you always want to create the wheel new... To analyze a code and see that it eventually fits into your system with some small changes takes not longer than create all new. I see it as the false way to create new stuff, ask nobody whether it is needed or not, publish it and nobody works then with it (Ex: Bid).

Please ask the community what IS needed, then we can look, how it could be financed together. Isn't this the better way?

It's nice when you publish such lists like:
Also langer Rede kurzer Sinn - hier die wichtigen Punkte, ganz grob:
- XHTML
- neues, klar strukturiertes Backend
- Verbesserung der Usability
- echter Superuser
- Rollen
- Auto-Archivierung
- Portalmanager/Teaser
- Frontend- und Backend Plugins
- Konfiguration in Backend
- Custom Contentpart Builder
- neuer Filemanager/Assetverwaltung
- einfacheres Upgraden
- Code Aufräumen
- Dokumentation
but which priority do these points have?? That must be explained by YOU.

You are the boss, you decide, you must explain.

It is your program and it is your forum, so please don't lose sight of your users and inform the community on a (hopefully) regular basis. That's not so much work!! We only want to know about your ideas.

We should work together, not against. This has to have the most important priority!

pico only tried to simplify the installation of the endless mods that could be worth for some users. Why blocking this? He also created a (in my opinion) better looking and working setup-routine, that would help the novices in a better way installing your baby. Why blocking this?

pepe is right: Without your powerusers you could close your forum soon. Aren't you willing to avoid this possible move?

We should concentrate our forces to speed up the development of phpwcms and not to vituperate against each other.

You are right. I will share my ideas. But really it is a lot of work to check everything beside a job. That's my position during the last months.

Most of the hacks are not usable or better what they are: just hacks.

More in June - not today.

Hi OG,

I only wanted you to relialize to get (again) in touch with the user's thoughts and wishes or proposals concerning new development.

Ask the people what they need or when you have new ideas, try to find out whether it will be accepted by the people or not... ;-) If it will not be accepted, you can save manpower and then you don't have to start a perhaps senseless programming of unneeded stuff...

Have phun.

I will try to bring phpwcms - and also the community - back to the same position as it was before I began to work in Berlin and thought both can be handeld by myself.

The first is a consolidated release.
