I am trying this out on my localhost....

I get the above message when I try to log in. I am very much a newbie, but I don;t see any DB created when I look using SQLyog.

Further to that I can't seemt o create a password to log in with...everytime I do that I get a 1045 error, localhost paddword:no or yes I can't remember...

Anyway I am obviously missing something with the set up as I can never log in....I even download the config file and replace the one in the config/phpwcms folder then delete the set up folder, and then nothing works full stop!!!

can anyone help?

Hi

you must first create a Database with mySQL or phpMyAdmin - in this Database the Setupscript of phpWCMS will create the Tables.

Hello ...

I guess what you did ...

You created Database local as someone like "root". When phpwcms is running and trying to get a connection to database there has to be one USER. Phpwcms does not operate with the root priv and this might be better

Just rejoin the place where you created the database and ad a user. Therfore notice the given name and pass. The Name of the database as phpwcms does not matter but may be as well be confusing. You may call database "Earnie" and it works the same

Therefore you tell the wcms the name of the DB.

Dbdown always indicates a unproper or not possible connect to database

right well thats no luck either...

USing SQLyog I set up a user called wood1e with a password of beckie and I get the 1045 error, access denied for user wood1e (password NO), I knew there was a reason i gave up trying to learn PHP before...lol

ANyway the only way I can log on to MySQL is with username root, and no password....

so where do I go now? I even downloaded WAMP as an easier way to install everything..and still I have to log in with root and no password....shall I uninstal and start again, choosing a username and password for MySQL is that the only way?

No reason to worry. I know there are lots of possibilities to get phpwcms running on localhost ... i suggest just one ....

Thats - for me - one of the known checked Servers on win-systems.

For me .. the original domain http://apachefriends.org ist not routed today .. anyway.. if not working try google.

And this one comes with a working phpmyAdmin

where you can create user and pw as well
