Install is not working iis

Hi All,

I installed (my info regarding install):
1.2.5 DEV
MySQL 4.0.20a-nt
system: Windows NT 5.2 build 3790
server: Microsoft-IIS/6.0
php: v4.3.5
I installed phpwcms here above the www root: path: /cms

$phpwcms["site"] = "http://www.mysite.com/";
$phpwcms["admin_email"] = "test@mail.com";

$phpwcms["DOC_ROOT"] = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']
$phpwcms["root"] = "cms"; //default: ""
$phpwcms["file_path"] = "phpwcms_filestorage"; //default: "phpwcms_filestorage"
$phpwcms["templates"] = "phpwcms_template"; //default: "phpwcms_template"
$phpwcms["content_path"] = "content"; //default: "content"
$phpwcms["cimage_path"] = "images"; //default: "images"
$phpwcms["ftp_path"] = "phpwcms_ftp"; //default: "phpwcms_ftp"

and on bottom I have:
$_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] = 'c:/web/folder/folder/www';

Here is the result of the document root file:
1) your default $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']:
2) real DOCUMENT_ROOT based on this file : c:\\web\\folder\\folder\\www\
If (1) and (2) not equal then add following
line at the end of your conf.inc.php but before ending "?>":
$_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] = 'c:\\web\\folder\\folder\\www\';

Check if this is corresponding with the subdir
in which phpwcms is installed:
$phpwcms['root'] = "c:\\web\\folder\\folder\\www\";

I try to install couple times and it does not work.

During setup I had all path okay (green)

I can login but it stays there. I checked in MySql I am loged in the table
phpwcms_userlog I have the entry.
It does not give me any error message.
I checked the support forum and I also set php.ini to
session.use_trans_sid On

What do I do wrong? Can you help?

Hi

kill IIS

and install XAMP http://www.apachefriends.org/

OK this is not what you want to read - but it is always very diffecult to get PHP and mySQL to run correct on IIS. Search here the Forum - there was somewhere a Link to a How-To Page for installing a running IIS.

I forgot to write it in the post. I have this semi colon in my conf.inc.php file.
My host has IIS... no choice for me.

I just tried with:
$phpwcms["DOC_ROOT"] = 'c:/web/folder/folder/www';
Commented out on the bottom:
//$_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] = 'c:\\web\\folder\\folder\\www\';
No success.

With phpinfo() in login.php
I receive:
_SERVER["PATH_TRANSLATED"] c:\\web\\folder\\folder\\www\\cms\\login.php
_SERVER["PATH_INFO"] /cms/login.php
_ENV["PATH_TRANSLATED"] c:\\web\\folder\\folder\\www\\cms\\login.php

Dunno... you gotta find out why there are no "error messages"

Maybe edit your "php.ini" file to show all PHP errors:

error_reporting  = E_ALL; display all errors, warnings and notices

-AND-

Check any error logs for IIS

Is it on your local machine or a webhost?

I have a Webhost and I think they will not let me edit the php.ini to get the errors. Does someone has a function or some smart php code I can place in the login.php so I could see the errors? Anyone? Thanks again for the help. But I am not there yet.

You now need to setup the correct permissons for certain files and folders. This should be done using CHMOD from within your FTP Application.

Meaning they (hosting company) are a bit difficult. Not easy to get.

This is IIS there is no CHMOD, as far I now. Am I right?

Install error Description: I can login. Meaning I see the entry within the MySql user_log and it says I am loged in. But the login page does not go anywhere, it jumps back to login, without any warning or error. If I login with a wrong user/pw it says this are not correct. But when I enter the correct user/pw it just stays. I also tried to put the hole installation in the root folder. Same thing happens.

Yes, works. And login.php too works except that it does not go anywhere. Meaning into the application.

Nope. I just added the function within the login.php. I also added an error class... no error or warnings? What is wrong?

IF this is present in your code... you should delete it, so it resembles this:

Why don't you show the "true" site and path names instead of using the word "mysite" and "folder" ?
How is your host webspace set up ?
Is it:

If so, try this:

Must be ~you~ or the webhost.
Especially if you've tried two complete installs of two different versions and dropped the tables in between.
Could be firewall, browser settings, try a different browser, .htaccess restrictions, master "php.ini" settings needing override, temp folder settings, turning off the cache, MySQL connection issues (correct table prepends), etc...

Best ask your host to examine their logs, something has surely been tickled somewhere.

Ideally, you should just be able to use a combination of one or the other of these (uncommented or commented alternatives):
