Then I tried to login with my admin login and password (via login.php), but the CMS always redirects me back to the login page without showing an error. Does somebody know what the problem could be?
I can only post screenshots, the site where I run phpwcms is only available in my own network.
sorry but to use the search would help sometimes. and if you follow the forum index you will see there is an (unofficial) tutorials & documentation section. there will find this :
use PHPMyAdmin and search for the table phpwcms_user and insert here a new password for the user you want to log in.
Then you can login with the username pdedecker and your passwort! So it is possible to call the (unofficial) tutorials and documentation section here in the forum at
I'm not shure about this issue, but there is some good sense that the encryption of passwords is made by the server himself. Never had an eye on that, but look at this:
Is there any way to modify the login script so that no login or password is needed to login? (I know it's a very high security risk, but I want to try it)
Edit: I found out something, when I enter the wrong password, an error is shown, but when I enter the right password, no error is shown, but my webbrowser redirects me back to the login screen.
My advice:
re-install pdedecker because I think you didn't tick make admin account (or follow jscholtysik advice and change manually password in mysql).
Edit: I found out that the password I enter is correct, the problem is that phpwcms redirects me back to the login screen, even when I'm logged in already...
