Post custom hacks and enhancements for phpwcms here only. Maybe some of these things will be included in official release later.

{SHOUTBOX} mod (updated to v2.0 and named CShout)

Post by dungsport »

I dont know if this is considered as a mod but it is my little contribution to phpwcms community.

This mod will add a shoutbox into your site using phpwcms custom replacement tag. You can also use it with non-phpwcms site. Just download the shoutbox only if you'd like.

Installation guide: installation.html in the package

Any suggestion or bug please put in my shoutbox

Thanks

Oh, sorry guys. I did not realise this problem. This problem was caused by rewrite_url feature. Instead of using .phtml, I modified it to .htm but I didn't changed the code completely.

It's all good now.

Thanks a lot DeXXus

Hello,

i want to install your shoutbox, it seems to be the right feature for my site, it looks great. but i have some problems with the installation:
i have put the "ctag_shoutbox.php"-file into the <phpwcms_root>/phpwcms_template/inc_script/frontend_render.
In the root of phpwcms i have put the other files into the folder
"shouts" as you described it. now i write the replacement tag {SHOUTBOX:<width>x<height>} into the template. but in the frontendview there is just the {SHOUTBOX:x} visible. It seems, that the
systems doesn't replace the tag...Can you give me a little help?
Thank you for your Work!!
And please apologioze my bad English

Let me guess, a reason could be the way you enter the tag. If the shoutbox is gonna be 150 pixel width and 300 pixel height, it should be entered as exactly below:

{SHOUTBOX:150x300}

The other reason is that the source of ctag_shoutbox.php has been changed accidentally.

If you can provide me a piece of your code as well as the ctag_shoutbox.php file, it would be more helpful to track it down.

Kindly regards and thanks for using this tiny program,

Cheers,

PS:
Oh, just remember, if your website is hosted on a linux server, you must provide the world the right to read the file. To do so, go to the directory where the ctag_shoutbox.php file is, run this command:

chmod 644 ctag_shoutbox.php

you should be fine

Hi, Cool!

Thank you for your Help...now it works. I have forgotten to create a Data.txt File in the directory. I changed it into 666 Mod and it works.

I want to change the shoutboxcolors now. there are some css files
in the shout.php and i can make this. only the color (#FFFFA0) of the input-area (where name and message is located) is not changeable. Can you give me a hint, where i can change this colour?

Thank you for your Help!!!

It's strange...the colour changes from the choosed colour into the colour
#FFFFA0. Is this a browser thing? its of course a input field, maybe i have to change something in the browser options?
