Minimum requirements for phpwcms on a windows server

Post by brans »

Hi ppl,

I urgently need to know what the minimum requirements for phpwcms are, based on a windows server environment.

I need to know as many details as possible. Are there any ppl with old php versions having any problems ? What is the minimum php version for what feature? What is the least SQL version to have? What is possible about subfolders?

Give me as many details as you have. If you have ever had a problem because of a server requirement that wasn't fullfilled by your server, then please post it here.

Keep in mind: I'm talking about a windows server environment.

Hi

I'm using for my Testserver a 'old' Pentium II 400MHz with 512MB RAM as Hardware and XAMMP 1.4.1.2 as Software - running under WIN-XP.
It includes almost all you need for phpwcms except Imagick

http://www.apachefriends.org/xampp.html

can't say anything about the perfomance - cause there are a max. of 3 Users have access to this Server

I have just installed on a windows server, bear in mind the following

- write persmissions on files and directories, I did not have the permissions to set this! and it casued problems with uploading...
- dont forget to change the DOC root in the config to the windows root
eg: c:\dir1\dir2\www\yourdomain\
once this was changed, worked without any problems.

On my old laptop, I run the latest DEV on Win 98 + PWS (IIS 4) + MySQL 3.32 + PHP 4.3.7. It's fine for development, but maybe not a good minimum for serving on the www!
