Upgrading 1.1RC4 (april 2004) to 1.2.1-DEV

Hi.

I'm currently running in prod (IceInSpace) last years april release of RC4, and want to upgrade to 1.2.1-DEV.

Is there anything special I need to know? Do I just run the upgrade script to update the tables? I'm guessing I'll need to re-apply any php file and template changes after uploading all the new php files?

Can I just upgrade straight to 1.2.1-DEV or do I need to install every patch since april 2004?

Is it going to be straight forward or should I expect troubles?

If you have not applied ANY mods or hacks then you can...after a complete backup or all files & db... upload over the old files but I am sure that you will have to apply all upgrade sql's from your relese to that of the current release , in order. by using the SQL function within phpMyAdmin this should only take a few mins.

There are no production problems that I have found so far and would consider it to be as stable as previous releases under normal a working environments (the only environment I use

I do now have to login in twice though - A problem I have not had for years

, popping back like an old school friend - amusing by its novelty but soon revealing the reasons why you haven't really missed them

there is a file called upgrade.php in the folder setup. first update your sql entries to 1.1.9 and then to 1.2.1. i think this was it. but when you see the posibilities in upgrade.php everything should be fine.

Hi haveing a bit of a problem

am upgrading from rc4 27,08,2004

to 1.2 Dev

after runing the 2 sql scripts and copying over files

I get this error...

I am being redirected to .... http://www.phpwcms.de/dbdown.php

with the following error...

new phpwcms install?
Don't forget to move setup/setup.conf.inc.php
to include/inc_conf/conf.inc.php.

I have already updated the conf.inc.php with all correct info...so thats not the problem.

rememember - there is another Path for the !new! conf.inc.php

it's now ../config/phpwcms/..
