articel template structure/layout

Post by artisan »

hi, i really enjoy to work with wcms
but as ever i have a question ...

{If you have a article with sumamry and a link to more
and there some more details somr realted links and a commaent part
itz a hell of clicking to do this every time}

i could setup a hidden dummy article wich i only have to fill with datas ..but i only can cut not copy articles in the article manager

is ther a easier way to copy past or setup an default article with connetpart structure

as i cut in the manager ther should be a copy function also.
or does i missing a importent poitn?
thanks

In Dev.-Release 1.2.1 copy / paste of articles is possible. Which release do You use? A real template funtion for articles or article-structures is not included in PHPWCMS yet. A simple way to "setup" a default article with a specific content-part structure could be:

1. Create a menu-point (for example "Article-Templates") in the site-structure and set it hidden.

2. Create for each "article-template" You need an article in this new section and define all wanted content-parts.

3. If You want to write a new article, based on such an "article-template", go to the section and copy / paste it into the site-level You need. Then edit the article about the text and so on... in the existing content-parts and save.

Post here again, if this way could help You.

On http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... _id=116977 you will find these two downloads:

phpwcms_copy_article_structure_P1.zip.zip
phpwcms_copy_article_structure.zip

This is should be the copy and paste feature for 1.1-RC4_2004-08-27_A. Not sure whether you need the 1.1-RC4_2004-08-27_A version or you can also use just with 1.1-RC4_2004-08-27. Try.
