create article listing with summary and more link

I don't know whether am a bit dunb or what. I don't know how to create an article list with summary an more link. It seem s to be a common feature, but could someone just give me a quick idea on how to go about this?

I have tried the "link article" content type. This is exacly what I want, a list that I can sort. But it only displys the title. I tried changing the value for "top_count" in the conf.template_default.inc.php, bit no success.

Hi spirelli,

the only action you have to do, is:

create several articles unter the same category... then you will see, that phpWCMS will make the rest

Thak you. I have only worked with one article per page so far.

Hmmm, still have the following Problem with this:

1. nothing changes when I cange the value for "top_count" in the conf.template_default.inc.php file. Always only one Summary displays.

2. Is there a way that the list of articles stays in the order they were created in rater than sorting themseves according to which one was updated last, which seems to move to the top?

3. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Is there any tweak that would add the summary to the "link article" content part?

Your help is much appreciated.

hi spirelli,

if using t he latest version and all 4 patches you can set the sorting in admin center, structure level, then edit the level you have your aticles in.

you can select different methods how to sort articles and also set THERE the top_count.

1. Could someone please tell me where I find detailed instructions on how to go about this?

2. Do I have to download phpwcms_1.1-RC4_2004-08-27.zip AND the four patches or are they included in the phpwcms_1.1-RC4_2004-08-27.zip file?
