Hi all, first of all wonderful system, I have been playing with it as much as possible. I am a flash developer, and interested in learning this to plug flash stuff into too...
If I may ask a few questions -- Is there a step by step instruction of how to make a site with WCMS? -- eg why to do things in a particular way.
I am confused about all the different methods people use to create sites, eg if you can create a site using the template area, and pasting in all your table tags, why do you need the bottom part of the page layout section, and what is the difference of putting values in there, as opposed to code in the template area?
hmmm-- a little confused, but slowly working things out, If anyone can help by way of a getting started step-by-step / fully functional site, with admin section I would greatly appreciate it
New and ready to take it all on -- pix
newbee help please
Hi Pappnase, thanks for the response, I have been reading the documentation for a week and still confused a bit about a few things, I assume that this is all there is in the wauy of a step by step guide, but its not really what I was looking for ( I am a dumb flash developer with limited knowledge and experience of php, and PHP CMS systems.... dunno It all seems a bit difficult to understand in which order you would wrap WCMS around an exsiting HTML site with tables, nested tables....
eg on the index page there was 4 tables containing multiple rows of data, needing to be plugged in to the articles, how do the articles know where to display, if there are only a limited number of tags to tell them in which table cell to go? -- Maybe I should try for another week before posting again on the forum, but it seems WCMS is limited to simple html sites with a page for left right top main and footer... thanks for your help
