upgrade from v1.2.6-DEV

Hi,
we are still running a phpwcms v1.2.6-DEV version for our website. I now need to upgrade to the latests phpwcms version but before I will do that it would be great to hear from someone what would be the best procedure to follow.
Can I just follow the normal upgrade process or do I need to do some special things?
