Where's the img "bg_nav.jfif" ?

I'm searching for the img : bg_nav.jfif , I believe it is used to make an shadow in the navigation column, but I can't find it.

the whole control over the layout from the navigation menue you will find in the conf.template_default.inc.php wich zou find in the include/inc folder.

also wich image did you mean!? did you have a screenshot or sourcecode!?
