Article Links - Please Help!

Post by captaincrash »

Ok, great script to start with.

Having been using this script for a little while now with some good results but however I can't seem to find a way to link articles the way I want.

My scenario is i have an article, and inside this article i wish to have a link to another article that leaves the nav menu and breadcrumb in the same state.

I tried making this article invisible and under the same folder as the main article but I cannot then link to it. If I make the article visible the main article is automatically trimmed and a link placed.

If I create a 'hidden' folder for these articles the breadcrum and nav menu then do not correctly reflect where the user is in the site.

Im sure (hoping) there is a simple answer,
thanks.

in the article you want a link to apear "add content part" type "link article " and select the article you would like to link to.

i think this is what you are askink

im doing that on my site right now.

if you dont want the article to apear any where else in the nav other than from the provided link

create a new structure level in the index and check the front end menu status to hide.

Thanks for that, I am able to do this but this method then changes the breadcrum to reflect this hidden folder - is this intentional? Is there away around this?

in my experience that is the case you might try loading the content int an iframe so the url dosent change, thought that would effect the dynamic nature of your site a bit.
