Superuser settings, can not continue.

After input superuser settings and click nect, I am brought back to same screen showing stpes 3,4,5,6 and the superuser settings and input fields are not there,, clicking next again does nothing ,, if input the url http://phpwcms/setup/setup.php?step=1 I get

There is a database problem!

Account for user xxxxx was not created or updated.
Click continue to try again.

this takes me to the superuser settings and the circle continues.

DB settings are correct and schema / tables exist.

version is 1.3.3

Same problem here...
but in my case :

Invalid password! Password is case senitive, empty password not allowed.

and in a loop...

... files in the zip are corrupted ????...

I downloaded again in ver 1.3.3 .tgz and worked on the fly ...

but now i have another problem....

can´t get the contents to display correctly...
all ok on the backoffice ... but the index.php dosen't render noting...

i think its a mysql issue.... no error_logs generated...
