...can you all write in English when you write something? I know that phpWCMS has a german father but the ones that wants to follow in his footsteps really want to understand EVERY great post.
It can be really frusturating(for sure misspelled, but see - it doesn't matter) to see 'Bug' in the title and then I can't understand where it is..Because it's in german...Only thing I know is that there is a bug somewhere...for example...
Please guys...understand me...and the rest of the nongerman followers of the mighty phpWCMS...
I agree with you that this is a multicultural project, as you call it, but this poll will not prevent some users to continue to write in german, I fear.
Oliver has done everything in and the most of us are writing english, but there will always be some german writers, because they see the ".de" in the domain name and think, that this must be a native german site.
I think time will work for us and german postings will be exceptions in future...

It is better a bug is mentioned in german then not mentioned.... thats my opion..
I guess the people that can or will post in english do it, because then more people can help them...
Live and let live... people should be free to use whatever language they like. Besides, they may not have a choice if they only speak one language. But they can always use Babelfish to translate, even if it is imperfect.

I'm not demanding anything...People ARE free to use any language..I am just asking nicely...After all, there are some people here that put in a lot of hard work for us all that do not understand german...

I think it is a fair request. I don't speak german and there are times I do feel left out but the larger issue is that I may not get to help someone else out or vice versa. If someone doesn't know english then by all means they should post in german or whatever language but if you can speak more than one language then I think it is only beneficial for the community as a whole to post in both languages.
It is an interesting question though because I don't think it is right to make phpwcms an english cms. I think that would not be fair to the rest of the world to lose out on the best cms around just because they don't know english.
So, what I am really trying to say is that I really think the more languages the better for posts as long as we are taking the time to see solutions for the issues in as many languages as possible.
I do apprciate all those who do translate and take the time because it is a learning experience for those who can read it. If you can't do a word for word translation, maybe just a quick faq type question and answer when the thread is done. Thanks for the poll
TRUE:everyone is free to use any language they feel comfortable with.
TRUE: anyone can use translators to read any article.
TRUE: if you want help then you only have your self to blame for your responces if you choose to only ask your question in one language.
I can't speak greman but if i were really stuck with a problem I'd post in at least german and english - then again in french spanish, italian, portugese, danish (for you frold, as your english is so poor ) and any onther laguage i would think helped others help me.
It can not be the fault of others if you don't get answers.
i think this site should be multilingual, but sometimes it's a problem to give an explanation as detailled as in your naturally spoken language, so i think there could be missunderstandings...
the german posts wasn't there to withheld information to none german speakers - they should only give detailled instructions to members which haven't the vocabulary to understand everything.

As an American, I think we and other english speakers are spoiled by never having to learn another language. This is a german site, a german author, and germans got it going, so maybe we should put up with it if someone wants to ask a question in German.
