[have given up] - Cannot use pictures with image browser

Post by dick265 »

Hi
I can upload images with filke manager (PHPWCMS v 1.2.5)
I can see the directory listing of all uploaded files.
I cannot inspect any iamges anymore. Eiter filemanager crashes or I see a completely different figure
I cannot use the images in article centre: the image browser does not show any images
The backend crashes regulary when trying to work with images and/or filemanager.

Any ideas where to start looking?

Dick

id [1] failure

Post by dick265 »

hi
when trying to look up images, I get an ID[1] error
I then have to re-login.
this could explain the crashes . . .
all directories are set on 777.

does this help?

hello

please update to the latest release.

777 to all dirs don't solve the problem! it could be an pathproblem it could be a hostproblem, missconfiguration......

I never found the direct answer to this problem. I've found this thread:

When I followed all steps, it worked fine for me!

I know, i know
I totaly misunderstood the problem cause of my bad english, sorry about that!

My problem had something to do with the FCKeditor and using images in there...

Hallo
auf Deutsch dann:

Ich habe V1.1RC4 und v 1.2.5DEV.
RC4 functioniert einwandfrei

where is FCKeditor config file?

Post by dick265 »

Hi
followed on on the treat mentioned.
Found this remark

[quote]/* path to FCKeditor-Filemangers upload default 'picture/upload' from root
if you have installed phpWCMS in a Subfolder like cms change it to
cms/picture/upload
!!! no Slash at front and end '/cms/picture/upload/' will not work !!!

Where do I make this statement?

PROGRESS!!

Hi you all
if I use these settings in 1.2.5.DEV conf.inc.php
$phpwcms["compress_page"] = 0; //0 = OFF, 1-9: page compression ON (1 = low level, 9 = highest level)
$phpwcms["imagick"] = 0; //0 = GD, 1 = ImageMagick, 2 = ImageMagick 4.2.9
$phpwcms["imagick_path"] = ""; //Path to ImageMagick (default="" - none)
$phpwcms["use_gd2"] = 0; //0 = GD1, 1 = GD2
$phpwcms["rewrite_url"] = 0; //whether URL should be rewritable
$phpwcms["wysiwyg_editor"] = 2; //0 = no wysiwyg editor, 1 = HTMLarea, 2 = FCKeditor, 3 = browser based

then what I upload in filemanager is there, visible and also usable in image browser and in article centre.

This data then is not usable in version 1.1 RC4.

The same way goes in the alternative direction
1.1 RC4 is set up like this (conf.inc.php)
$phpwcms["compress_page"] = 0; //0 = OFF, 1-9: page compression ON (1 = low level, 9 = highest level)
$phpwcms["imagick"] = 2; //0 = GD, 1 = ImageMagick, 2 = ImageMagick 4.2.9
$phpwcms["imagick_path"] = ""; //Path to ImageMagick (default="" - none)
$phpwcms["use_gd2"] = 0; //0 = GD1, 1 = GD2
$phpwcms["rewrite_url"] = 0; //whether URL should be rewritable
$phpwcms["wysiwyg_editor"] = 1; //0 = no wysiwyg editor, 1 = HTMLarea, 2 = FCKeditor, 3 = browser based

Here i can use filemanager, upload etc. I can use images via Image Browser.
I cannot however use 1.2.5 images.

is there a way to use images on both systems, 1.1 RC4 as well as 1.2.5 DEV?

have given up

Post by dick265 »

stopped trying :?
this is a waste of time for me (since I do not know what I'm doing in PHP. .)
Will stick to 1.1 RC4, it is stable and working. Why bother?
I've choosen a CMS to focus on content, not on PHP specials.
Thanks anyway for the help and advice given :)
