GT Mod - Wierd Problem

Post custom hacks and enhancements for phpwcms here only. Maybe some of these things will be included in official release later.

GT Mod - Wierd Problem

Post by rtilghman »

Okay, so I've got this site I'm working on that I'm using PHPwcms for. I need to use Gotham for the site, so I had the designer make some TTF files from his set for me to use temporarily, copied them up, and made font classes for them. However, no matter what I do I can't get the font files to show up or work.

Basically while I see teh fonts and can create classes for them, the GT mod can't make an example of them. I don't see an example listed with the font in fonts, and when I assign the fonts to a style class all I see is a vry slim graphic that is the "spacer" area of the font file. Its making the font graphic, but the font either isn't being read correctly or isn't appearing.

I've analyzed the fonts using FontDoctor and they check out perfectly. In an effort to resolve this I had the designer send me OTFs of the font, converted them to TTFs in FontLab's Studio program, and copied them up. These converted files worked fine, but of course the Studio program ($650 retail) is a demo...

Anyone know why these fonts might not be working despite checking out and working fine in Windows and Mac? Very frustrating... I don't know enough about fonts or how GT works to know where to look for the problem.

Thanks,
Rick

Thanks for the reply. As I said in my post, I copied a second set of TTF files which I made from OTF versions the designer gave me and they worked fine. The only thing I can't do is I can't get the PC TTF fonts the designer sent me to work in the GT Mod, even though they look fine on my PC.

Designer's PC TTF Files = Look fine, don't work
My OTF to TTF conversion = Look fine, work fine

The problem with my conversion, as I stated before, is that my copy of Fontlab's Studio is a demo, and it puts little square marks on all the Glyph outputs.

Best,
Rick
