Post custom hacks and enhancements for phpwcms here only. Maybe some of these things will be included in official release later.

Version 0.5 is now available

There is now an admin area for the complete company MOD available. In this area will be found all future global settings, at the moment just the options for the products section.

Image

Currency symbol
This option defines a currency symbol that is used for the display of prices. You can use whatever value you want. You can also access this value by a replacement tag.

Additional price information
This value is added to every price table in the footer. The purpose of this value is to inform people about legal issues, e.g. "These prices are understood with additional 16% taxes. There is no warranty on correctness." See screenshot. You can also access this value by a replacement tag.

Additional replacement tags
{CURRENCY}
Displays the current currency symbol that is defined in the mod_company admin area.

{ADDITIONAL_PRICEINFO}
Displays the global additional priceinfo that is defined in the mod_company admin area.
Update instructions from version 0.4 to 0.5
.. are included in the ZIP-Package. I will not mention update instructions in future update-info-postings, because they take too much space :).

Thank you for your positive feedback, Frederik.

I have changed the screenshots - they are all in english language, now, which shows better which replacement tags stand for which fields.

The field "Systemvoraussetzungen" corresponds to "System requirements" and is represented by the replacement tag {PRODUCTS:SYSTEM_REQ:productname}

Your idea to add the data with one of the editors is good, I will put it on my ToDo-List. Wonder, why I haven't come to it, myself. ;) Thank you for this, though.

I don't know where this MOD will lead us, but I want to include most of the (reasonable) features that interested people might request.

I think the "releases"-feature could be some powerful tool. It is intended for software releases and could be combined with the "normal" product information.

Imagine the following situation:

You present your product on the website. But everytime you bring up a new release, you will still have to edit the front page, on which you present the product, because you have to change the version number.

With a special replacement tag, say {PRODUCTS:CURRENT_VERSION:productname} you could be able to set the current version number automatically. So that you don't have to edit your pages any more, but just the product information.

I plan to gather the release information as follows:
- Version number (for main new product versions)
- release number (for upgrades in functionality)
- Build number (for bugfixes, small changes [not in functionality], etc.)

On one page you could then display all releases of your product (a changelog), on another page just the small bugfixes, etc.

The replacement tag that I mentioned before would always display the Version/release number that it extracts from the most actual release that you have entered in your release management system.

I am myself curious what this all will bring us in future :).

I haven´t installed the mod but based on the screenshot above:

Why not make a new feature "add categori" and then under product basic information chose the categorie via a dropdown menu..

You could add a new field "product description" where you not only can use the wysiwyg-editor but (all the content types) like when you want to make a new article where you can choose between the content types....when Oliver have created all these content type why not use them....then you can add images uploade, mailform etc for the product..

That is what is planned for release 0.6 or 0.7. I have already got it on the ToDo list and I hope to begin it soon...

Good idea! I will put it on the ToDo-list ;). I think it is a good idea to gather all product-related information in the Company-MOD-section and insert everything with replacement tags in the corresponding articles.

I will just have to find the time and to get to know Olivers system better, I am still a beginner and I am searching and searching through his code :).

Version 0.5.1 released

I had forgotten to add the localisation for the pricetable head (which shows the line "Price list for the product 'xyz'"). Stupid me. :)

By the way: The MOD is available in english language. So don't fear to test it, if you haven't already done :).

I will always provide easy to follow update instructions so that there should never be a problem to upgrade to the next MOD version.

I should write everything down what I think to my todo-list and not just wait until you say something, Frederik. I also have had this idea. But now I will have to say that it was yours. :roll: :lol:

Now frold stops brainstorming... my little head can´t handle all that activity in that.. :oops:

Company MOD 0.6 released

The release management is now included.

Screenshots:
- Releases: Overview
- Edit Release

Today I will begin to do the replacement tags for the different, perhaps interesting data. The next two weeks I am in holidays, so I don't know if (and if yes, how much) I can work on the MOD, but I would like to concentrate mainly on two things:

- Making the MOD compliant to ionrocks idea of a plugin system

- Making use of content parts, so that lists and images can be maintained more easily

One additional feature that will be implemented in the MOD:

- A project list in which we can maintain the projects that we have performed with our customers.

- A reference list (Referenzliste) in which we can maintain a list of customers that have been satisifed with our product(s)/project(s).
