I have done that, and there's isn't a session problem. Plus the fact that it was working okay with v1.1

I think there is a problem:
1) db - not correct version
2) check login script
3) PHP version updated.

You can try to use the checklogin script from old release.

I have tried all other checklogin scripts from all previous releases. No difference, same problem.

please ask your host if he can look if there are a session problem!
I asked my hosting provider and he monitored several sessions but did not find any problems regarding session times or idles.

In former installations of phpwcms i did not have this problem, but after upgrading they started. Also used different hosting providers but the problem is still the same and is only getting worse.

also checked with previous versions of the checklogin script. No difference. PHP and MYSql are the same version, only thing changed is phpwcms version.

I do have a local webserver with an old version installation of phpwcms. Worked without problems. Just updated only phpwcms, and now i have the same problem there (restored backup after that). So i dont think it has to do something with php or msql version.

Maybe i found a solution to the login-problem: this is what i did:
I disabled ZoneAlarm.
That's it.

good luck to you!

Thanx for the tip. I allready disabled all kind of firewall and virus scanners on my own system. Even installed a fresh system with Windows XP and SP1 only. Did not help.

I am using also ZoneAlarm, but disabling it won't work for me.

Perhaps it has something to do with the time ? My server is located in the USA.

I still do not know what the problem is and I like to know where I have to look. I'm trying everything I can, but it looks like this is becoming a dead end ...

I think (maybe) might have to do with version of MySQL. I can remember a time problem which some users had and why I have changed checklogin.inc.php.

Try to use checklogin.inc.php from an older package - the one which is working like you have described.

I have tried different checklogin.inc.php from earlier versions. No result.
The strange thing still is that it was working fine when I used v1.1 RC4, the problem started when I upgraded to DEV 1.2.3.

But my brother is (still) using v1.1 RC4 and also having the same problems. We are both on the same host.
