Have to log in twice, session time-out after few mins

Post by Vargas »

Hello everyone,

I have little problem with my phpwcms installation. In the log in screen, i have to log in twice with the same user-data. After the first log in, the screen just refreshes, no error or other message.

After i logged in, i can only work for about 2-5 minutes, then i am being redirected to the log in screen and i have to log in again, which is very annoying cause i can't finish my work.

Does anybody know about his problem ? maybe have a solution ?

Thanx in advance.

Seems that a (growing) number of people having the same problems.
This problem is discussed in this forum a couple of times via various threats. :(

I have this problem on 3 different sites, with 3 different installations (v1.1 RC4 / DEV 1.2.3 and DEV 1.2.5).

Perhaps we can nail down this issue once and for all. :!:

Come'on guys. let's work this out. How can this happen ?

I agree that the double-login is a nuisance. I found it works properly for a while, then starts bouncing the first attempt. Second attempt nearly always works - as long as the login button is clicked (pressing enter can sometimes not work).

It's been the same with 1.1 RC4 and dev 1.2.3. I notice there is a timestamp in the user table. Could this have anything to do with it? After my host reset their DB server I was locked out completely until I changed a setting as recommended in this thread:

I send a PM to Pappnase with login details for my site. If he has the time he will take a look into the files /site in detail. Perhaps he may find something...

always check your session settings - seems you loose your session or you have problems with db connections or what ever.

Hi Oliver,

I have never had this session problem on my main site (arcarion.com). I have always used v1.1 RC4 without any problems. But then I upgraded to 1.2.3 and this problem started. Now with 1.2.5 still the same problems.

My brother is having the same problem with v1.1RC4.

So, my sessions are fine and my settings also because it did work.

maybe your db is not able to handle all queries. I really don't know why this happens. Haven't seen such effects on all those installs I made.

Which PHP version do you use, what MySQL version?
