Problem with FTP takeover and upload file

Post by hthomy »

Hi,

I've updated from 1.25 to 1.28, everything seems to work fine, but i cant upload files.

After normal fileupload: error messaig is something like this,

Dont tryit again. server error. Please contact with webmaster. (maybe the translation is not perfect)

With Ftp takeover, the error message is:

selected files uploaded via ftp will be taken over!

fej_udv2.gif (Error while writing file to storage (1).)

error while file take over

Maybe somebody had the same problem and can help me?
Thanks

Hi hthomy,

is there enough webspace available?
The correct permissons for certain files and folders are set? Please set it again.

Hi Knut,

Webspace is sure avaiable, cos its unlimited.
But i am not sure about permissions.
Is it possible that it changed during the update?

It wasnt me who installed, the program. So I am not really familiar with installing sorry :(.

Could you explain me how the set it again.

I use FTP via Total Commander. And I can copy file via FTP, in every folder. What i cant do is overwrite such file as frontend.css. I dont know if its related with permissions :(

Sorry again.

Normaly no, but have a look to e.g. /phpwcms_template/inc_css/frontend.css.
This file must be have the right 666. In TotalCommander you can see this at the last column "Attr".
You can set the right by marking the file(s) or folder(s) and switch it by using -> File -> Change Attributes.

Please check all permissions. http://www.phpwcms-docu.de/installation_en.phtml

Thank you very much,

Now its solved, all were wrong, frontend.css is actually 644, i cant change the attributes of the files. So I will askl my host to change it.
But I could change that for the folders, and now those are 777, so the ftp takover works fine. So thanks for it.

Last question.
Here: http://www.phpwcms-docu.de/installation_en.phtml the tuturial indicates that the e.g. "phpwcms_template" folder shoud be 777, I've changed, but is this means that all folder under it sould be 777 too or it doesnt matter, beacuse those are still 755.

Best regards,
Tamás
