Possible to integrate a blog?

Post by brewster66 »

How hard is it to integrate a blog into PHPWCMS?

Would I use some sort of iFrame? I didn’t see where PHPWCMS has a blog module like Drupal or others.

However, I really like the simplicity of PHPWCMS over some of the other CMS’s so that is what I am choosing to go with it.

Evidently a guy has been developing a blog mod for a while and it has been development but it’s gotten delayed a number of times and is not ready yet. That’s the only reference I could find for one. I guess I'll wait and see if that one actually appears as a download at one point.

So that goes to my original question, will a third party blog work as an iframe or is that getting too complicated considering I’ll have two admin sites I’ll have to go into.

ok, I guess my question is answered:
there is no blog solution - it not what phpwcms is meant for....

but under every article you can put the content type "guest book" and then you can let your users comment every articles... just modify the template for the guestbook
see: http://www.phpwcms.de/forum/viewtopic.p ... light=blog

so maybe I look for an all-in-one solution, another Web CMS

-I think frold was just lowering "expectations" by talking -=around=- the absence of such a Content Part (he even "suggests" a workaround).

-This script (phpWCMS) is still just the "vision" and direction of Oliver Georgi. Any small change by OliverG can render the work of others as "version-specific" [works only with certain phpWCMS version(s)].

-Until there is more of a standard and method and guidelines and documentation for the community... the variety of Hacks and AddOns will remain "fragile" and dependent upon such a symbiosis.

-As long as you realize and accept this...phpWCMS still serves individuals and designers quite well. Your words about -=maybe=- looking for an "all-in-one solution" elsewhere are neither upsetting to -or- unexpected by folks here, because most are devotees!

-BTW, as is often the case, it is the strength of the "base" script that has driven the community, up to now, but you will have to read the forums to get a better sense if phpWCMS can meet your needs on some level!!! :)
