header background image not working

Post by joaopalma »

Hi,

When creating a layout, I am using 3 different pics as background for the header, for the left block and for the footer.

the pic for the left block works fine
The pic for the footer works fine
the pic for the header DOESN'T!

I've already rechecked the paths and they are correct

Does any body have an idea of what I'm doing wrong?
(Could anybody check if this happens in your phpwcms?)

why does this happens?

Grateful for help,

Joao

Hi joaopalma,

it happens for me. That isn´t an phpWCMS problem.
What type of layout you are using, table or div?
Is there a link where we can see the site?

Hi flip-flop,

I'm using table type.

here's a link
http://www.easywebmaking.com/templates/ ... ,0,0,1,0,0
(sorry that's in portuguese.. but it really doesn't matter)

I am trying to build several templates...
The other templates work because I am pulling the image trough html in the header section of the "wcms template"

But I would rather prefer to use only the layouts to define this!
thanks

Hi,

you have lost the head section.
At page layout please use the "header: height: = 150" e.g.
"blocks`:" is no. 2 ?

At your template the right page layout is selected?

Hi,

I was already using "header height: = 150"

And I am using the first block
(because i might use in the future the right section, which at the moment is set to zero)

Yes, the layout is correctly selected

hi joaopalma,

have you already checked the path or
if you have the right path:
is there the right named pic?

This maybe is a stupid question
but you woukdn´t be the first and
won´t be the last...

But there´s another thing i recognized.
Did you want to realize a round-corner-footer?
I see a rounded corner-end of the content-background
and than comes the normal footer???

Hi Klappstuhl28,

Yes, I checked the path. And its the correct file
And I don't think its a stupid question... ;)
I would call it a "normal question"

Yes I want to do a round corner footer. I guess I did.. (I hope!)
Maybe I didn't understood your question...

But the round corner footer image (only rounded in the bottom) is as the "background image" of the wcms footer. Is this what you asked?

Hi,

any chance for an update to 1.26 ? http://www.phpwcms-docu.de/index.php?cvs_info_en

Please clear the cache of the CMS an deactivate it at conf.inc.php
But that isn´t the first problem.

Did you use the same page layouts for all 7 templates?
If no, please test the template 1 with the page layout 2.
And test the template 2 with the page layout 1.

The result??

Hi flip-flop,

Well... I'm rather a newbie on this to try to install 1.26...
I used the fantastico which installs everything... (for dummies like me)
I will think about it...

Could you please explain how to deactivate and clean the CMS cache?

I used different layouts.

I tested the swaping layouts as you said.
The result is the same on template 2.

As I told you before, I am pulling the headers with an <IMG> tag in the "header" field of the "wcms template".... that's how Template2-Template10 "work". (Now Template2 doesn't work as well because it's using Layout 1)

I have to leave now... will continue this "adventure" tomorrow.
Have a nice evening flip-flop and Klappstuhl28

Hi joapalma, hi knut

The caching-Theme:
There once is a checkbox in article-backend to turn off cache
and you´ll secondly find this in your config:

$phpwcms["cache_timeout"] = 14400; //default cache timeout setting in seconds - 0 = caching Off

So, "14400" is the standard setting set it to "0" and nothing
will be cached.

Sorry Knut i don´t want to reinforce your themes.
Hope this is no problem i wrote this answer on the fly.
The other point is:
Is it worth waiting for 1.3. or 1.2.7 or do you think it´s
needful to install 1.2.6 now?

Ok, joaopalma, the footer-question i asked, is because the
content ends normally wiht a rounded-corner-background
But there´s more content so the background-image is
repeated and "kills" the rounded-corner-effect.

No problem, two pares of eyes are seeing more than one.

I hope the next release is comming at the next four weeks. But I haven´t no contact to O.G. For me I would update to 1.26 if not so many changes (hacks) were made.

@joaopalma
Please can you post the Layout 1 and the header of the template 1? (Screenshot?).

Hi knut,

So I swapped again to the original layouts and templates to avoid confusion...

so, this Template T001 (which now doesn't work)

has an EMPTY template header

and this layout:

Image

the paths for the images are
images/esq/L001.gif
images/headers/H001.gif
images/rodapes/R001.gif

and the this Template T002

has this template header:

<IMG SRC="images/headers/H002.gif">

and this layout:

Image

the paths for the images are
images/esq/L002.gif
images/rodapes/R002.gif

And Knut,

I couldn't find any

$phpwcms["cache_timeout"] = 14400; //default cache timeout setting in seconds - 0 = caching Off

in the config.inc.php file

Unfortunately, the version from Fantastico ~may~ be QUITE old and does not have many of the more advanced features that have since been added (like that cache timeout setting)! :(
