How to edit conf.template_default.inc.php?

Post by andras »

I'd like to change the style of NAV_TABLE_COLUMN (background colour and font size for the moment).

After reading docu and posts I understand that I have to change config/phpwcms/conf.template_default.inc.php.

I just don't know how to do this (even after reading many posts).

Do I have to download the file on my computer (e.g. with FileZilla) open it with some software (e.g. Notepad maybe directly with FileZilla), modify and replace the original one with this modified version?

Is this working? Is there some more simple way?

I hoped to do that from control panel, but I haven't find a way from there. Under ADMIN I can change page layout, templates, default css, but I don't see an option for changing conf.template_default.inc.php.

Can you help me with this?

Thank you for your help!

Hi andras,

for such things I take Total Commander, which has a built-in ftp client.

You only have to adjust your favorite external editor (I use Editplus), connect to your ftp server, press F4, then the file to edit get loaded into your editor. Here you can edit it. Then you close your editor and then Total Commander asks you whether you want to upload the changed file again to yout ftp server. That's it!!
