TUTORIAL PROPOSAL

Post non-phpwcms related topics here - but I don't want to see "hey check this or that other cms". Post if you have a point or worthwhile comment, don't post just to increase you post count!

TUTORIAL PROPOSAL

Post by pSouper »

Hi guys,

I would like to make a proposal for the comprehensive tutorial building of PHPWCMS.

1: a new frontpage topic on this forum for tutorial proposals.

2: a sticky explaining the rules and ettiquette for writing/editing and signing off on a tutorial to say that it it curently complete and ready for 'CREATING'

3: a sticky 'wish list' for tutorials. anyone can post here requesting a tutorial subject to be covered.
Any function of phpwcms can have a tutorial dedicated to it.

5: new tutorial topics...Anyone willing to post a tutorial may do so here.
simple post a reply to the stick 'wishlist' topic of your chosen tutorial request stating your intension to create this tutorial, in what language you intend to write it in and any further infomation you need to complete the tutorial.
NOTHING else is to be posted here(far less confusing for step 6).
ANY proposed edits/fixes and relative inclustions should be sent by 'private message' to the owner of the tutorial who is then responsible for editing their tutorial in this section.
(I would suggest for efficientcy, working on only one laguage for any tutorial until it has been completed and correct. then translations can be submitted to request wishlist.)

6: a phpwcms tutorial site should be setup.
An 'HTML-Templates' menu will incluse a plain text article for each of the templates re-written as NON-ACTIVE HTML versions of the origonal ready for cut&patse/editing by anyone into new tutorial articles as html.

The creation of a tutorial should keep these fake-templates and overlay bullets and icon images to identify particular areas whien referenced within the tutorial text below.
I hope I am being clear enough in the above paragraph ;).

7: periodically tutorials should be backed and dispatched to oliver for inclustion on http://www.phpwcms.de and as a download pack on sourceforge.
along with instructions on how to install these on your site.

any thoughts??

I think this is a much better way than writing the tutorial in a wiki. I had much problems in writing the Tags into the wiki style code.

phpwcms is the best way for publishing things on the web, so why not the tutorial?
