different setup problem

hi..

i have a strange setup problem..

i've done a local setup..

i followed this link http://www.phpwcms-docu.de/installation_en.phtml
and everything was ok and gren lights the whole way..

now..! when i'm trying to login with my user and pass i'm getting a 404..

i've tried to search in the forum for an answer but without success..

thankful for help..

You say local ... a Windows system ? Which apache Version, which php version.. call for details

hi DF6IH..

yes.. i'm trying to do a setup locally..

i'm using Win XP Pro
with Abyss Web Server X1
along with MySQL 4.1.9-nt
and PHP version 4.3.10

i don't know but i saw somewhere that GD and a imagemagic
should be installed too.. and that someone else answered that it was not necessary..

i'm not using either of them
but.. if that is so.. where do i download them and how do i set them up..?

other than that.. i still have problems.. not being able to log in
except for a little thing i noticed..

if i 'jump' the login and just click on the logo ontop, i will be transfered
to index.php but now i get a blank page instead of the 404 and a little
red box in the left bottom corner saying 'admin:' .. that's all..

Hi again,

I know ... it takes lots of time... I know... one machine for localhost has to be deinstalled to make shure this works..

XAMPP ... is .. as far as I know ... the one and only... GD 2 Support as well.

Using localhost from XAMPP on a USB Drive... fell in love with this when I saw running phpwcms on it

EDIT: First of all check if you cliked on the "create admin acount" in the setup ... redo setup before killing and reinstalling...
