File list only shows jpg files

I have a site installed.
I want to have a file list with an article.
However the only files shown there are jpg files.
I've tried pdf and txt files.
They upload in the filecenter and can then be downloaded from the filecenter.

The popup opens when I click the add icon to add files to the file list.
Then in the popup the root dir and other dirs are shown,
Only gif and jpg (haven't tried other image types yet) are shown in the popup.
The pdf and txt files don't show.
It acts like an image list in the backend but shows as a file list on the frontend

Has anyone heard about this problem before?
Did I miss a setup setting?
FIlesizes are around the same size (10-270Kb)

have a look in your filecenter. are the folders with the pdf- and txt-files and the files switched to public and active (icon musst be green)?
