black:white magazine and Music Police

Post by grontas »

With the great help and support from this brilliant forum my projects are up and runnin. The black:white magazine is http://www.blackwhitemag.net and the Music Police Creative Network e zine is http://mpolice.blackwhitemag.net

Both sites are complex and with really big structure. Thanks to phpWCMS and Oliver and off course this forum and after a cms hunting and testing a realise one thing. WCMS is a swiss knife for a web designer. Easy to learn and with great design freedom. And the best part is this for me. I totally working with both sites offline (at my hard disk) and then just upload the SQL and wcms with all of content. Brilliant...

Cheers

ps: I really dont understand that many sites dont have a credit to oliver and phpWcms. Many of those have delete also the meta tag. Shame...

Well done, design is outstanding.

With the site http://www.blackwhitemag.net the language always turns into greek, that's a minus.

Perhaps you can post which mod's you used for your sites, gives us some insight.

ff123. Yes i know... its a minus but we working on that. I dont use any mods.
The languages UK, DE etc will be located at another category in the site structure and dont finish yet. Complex situation cause when the user choose his language ALL at the structure must change.Flash menus, articles, links etc... We can doing it with the easy way (greek, english) but we like more the hard way...

Any suggestions ff123?

Thank you again for the support and the nice comments!

Kalimèra Grontas,

you're in my top ten phpwcms made sites!
Neat work, great design! Congrats!
I Remember a few months ago when you were hesitating about phpwcms, but you did it and it's worth the look, sure!

For multilanguage there is an easy trick (not a hack/MOD, just one file) to have it all page to page translated, you have to do gr_page de_page en_page fr_page and so on, just copy structure levels name with the prefix _ the little strip_prefix.php that you place in your scripts (15 line sor so) will do the rest, and your templates can be gr, en, de, fe so u can use different flash as well (or even better you can call VARS from flash as well... but that's big work, the kind Fulvio likes ;) .

Look at Pepe's solution here: http://www.phpwcms.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6553

Cheers

Thank you Kosse
for your nice comments and for your support :D. Glad to be in your phpWcms top10. Also thanks for the Pepe's solution link and your advice. Yeap is a big and tough project the 5 languages site. 3 persons we are working like mad on this and i hope will finish till next month.

Hey Fulvio
Nice script and nice site. I like the "on the fly" translation. But i think there is a tricky mouse movement like a game :). Its ok for me but i think the average user will be confused with this.

Love and peace
