Errors during login!

I'm totally new to PHPwcms but what I see I very like =) As a designer I think this is a very nice script to create nice lookings sites. But I want to try out on my server and installed everything like the manual says. Everything works fine while installing but when I want to login after installing I get the following error :

Insert your login data
Errors during login!

The database connection is fine. The database is filled and the user I created is Admin / Test . I've searched this whole forum but didn't find a topic with the same problem.

I hope someone can help me cause I definitely want to use PHPWcms.

I've read it.. tried also the session-test. Works fine.. I don't know whats wrong.. Hope someone can help me out. I'm stuck here..

this is the error that will apear when either the password or the username is typed in incorrectly.
I imagine it is this simple.
however if the username and/or password were spelt incorectly while setting up then it would be where your problem lies.
I would suggest runnning the setup again, give a NEW user and password then once you are in you can go to admin/user data and see what you did wrong.

or better still, use phpmyadmin to look at the database directly.

Thanks pSouper.. but that's not the problem. THat was the thirst thing I did. I created a new Admin account via PhpMyadmin. But that didn't work out...

is it all acounts that are giving you the error? or just that one you mention?

I would say it may be quicker to drop you database, delete the phpwcms folder and reinstall fro mscratch if at all possible - this usually fixes these 'freak issues'

if it's not possible or desirable to do that then It may take some time to help you out here.

ps - case sensitive password? caps lock on?

Well.. just cleared the whole server. Download a fresh TAR of PHPWcms and installed everything again. No luck.. same problem.. damn.. annoying! =)

what is your server setup? os/php/mysql are you using a localhost?

Hi vmedia,

Sometimes this error is caused simply due to your browser's privacy settings. What i just can suggest you is to set up your browser's internet options (tools menu option), either by enabling local cookies or setting up a lower privacy level, and check it untill you find the right level that let you login to phpwcms admin backend with no problems.

I'm almost sure that your problem are cookies!!!

Hi Portionox,

Problem is already solved. oliver checked it and it was a MySQL problem (part of my provider.. ) The patched version of PHPWcms did do it! (thanks Oliver1)
