Examples implemented News functionality!

I would like to add news messages on my site. What I like is a link list with the date, news title, author.

Click on the news message and the details are coming up!

Who does have a good suggestion to setup news on the site with version 1.2.3-DEV. There is not allready a news content item implemented where we all are waiting for!
