Opensource Filemanager with user and group rights

Post by trip »

Hi all
I am after a file manager that is web based but has all the user & Group rights.

Basically I need to be able to to say that users in this group can see only these files which have been uploaded. The user must not see the entire FTP, only the files that have been uploaded.

Needs to be TEMPLATE based

I have searched high and low, and maybe someone has had some experience or uses one on a regular basis...

any help would be appreciated

Hi Trip,

I use Quixplorer, an OS script.
http://quixplorer.sourceforge.net/
Easy to setup, to adapt to site style and without using a database.

handles filemanagement and easy to setup users and rights.

give it a try.

all best

In Quixplorer you can define folders and users and the rights what they should view, do or not to do with this folder.

I like it because i can setup a new directory outside of office so it can be done very easy.

i also tried OWL, but was too much design to do to get it implemented into site design.

Hi trip,

phpxplorer looks very promising. Especially the image viewer inside seems to be very good.

Thanks for the link.
