file management : filelist??

I am starting to use the filelist content part.. and dont' know how I can update files in the file manager once they are uploaded... it seems that the edit button doesn't allow you to upload a new version... so I have to delete the file.. when I do this the association between the file and the content part is gone (I'm guessing because a new ID is given to the new file that doesn't match the one that used to be related in the article). I was hoping that having the same filename would work.. but no.

anyone have a idea, to make managing this easier????
