how to get the NEW mark into Navtable

how can I realize that in NavTable a NEW or EDITED Flag is shown when a Article is added or edited - like on the Docu Site

ok so far - so good

'have put the Code into a File in ../frontend_render

when I use the Code

somwhere I get the New Flag - but where is the right Place for this Code that it shows the Flag in the NAV_TABLE? I use

also I don't see how the EDITED Flag is working
