Und was is mit denen, die kein Englisch können?

What do Leute, who no speak English??

A little Toleranz könnte auch den englischsprachigen Kritikern hier gut zu Gesicht stehen. Ich kann kein Englisch und muss mich bissi bemühen, wenn ich halbwegs was begreifen will.

Ok, lets went ... oder so.

I'm happy to help you in Deutsch, FN-Media (if I know an answer).
However, I propably would not want to visit 2 Forums; German and English. With 2 Forums I propably wouldn't help you in Deutsch, bacuse I would not visit it.

Viele Grüße!

Wollte eben eine {URL: http://www.irgendwas.de} - Weiterleitung im Schlagtext unterbringen und bekomme folgende Fehlermeldung. Suitable Wrapper?
p.s. it not meant personally bastain - jus as an example which there are a lot of in this forum

As you see the subject is english and the post is in german and that is wast of the english speakers time.

- when you as a non-german speaker search you will get that hit eventhough you can´t use them.
- when using "View posts since last visit" you get listed posts where you think you can help - but when opening you can´t understand what they ask for. Wastes of time.

Conclusion: We need that german forum. Eg. install the subforum mod.
stop frold thats enough! bastaian has also post in the last days a few Q's in english! after i please him to do this!
so if he don't know how to write this question in english he can write in german.

Cyber-James, I am starting to wonder why your nick isn't Internetz-Hans or something like that

As I already stated above (in English) Oliver has written the whole phpwcms.de site in English. If he wanted to shut out everyone except the Germans (like redaxo) he could have easily made his site in German. He did not do such a thing (logical, because the world goes on beyond Germany), so please stop acting like the French

If he was french he would insist on a French-(in this case German)-only Forum. Instead he said:

So for him there is no problem with English and German licing happily together as it seems....

Of course mixed topics are not a problem for Cyber-James as he understands both languages, but they are a huge problem for all people who do not understand German!

But well, I give up. Tried to make my point, but don't seem to get through. Even my lame attempt for being funny failed miserably. Pun intended to point out the arrogance that the French sometimes display in their persistance to keep out English words from their language. (I even put a 'wink' behind it...)

Hello,

I am a new user here but i have seen the problem with to many German topics already and i find em annoying.

The large amount of German topics are kinda irritation when looking for things that can help me with modification and things like that, i search the forums get lots of hits that have a good English topic that looks perfect for me but badabooom when i open the post it is in German and i cant understand that since im from Sweden and dont understand anyother languages than English and Swedish.

So i see two ways to solve it, first is to keep a strict rule that post in the forum is English only and not any other language maby maka a "Localised Support" sub forum where you can ask for help in your own language? First you purge all topics that dont have answers etc then you setup a Translator team that translates topics from German to English, thats a huge work. when a topic is translated it is put back in the forums.

Second is to divide the forum in two parts one English and one German. Then make a moderator team that can sort and move the topics to the part of the forum that best suits its languages and contents. This is not that hard work. You should also purge all empty topics here to, no idea to save them they just put some extra load in the server and is not any idea to sort either.

Thats my idea for a solution on this problem, mabye someone could contact the author of PHPWCMS and propose this and then make him have a big vote in the forums and the proposal that wins will be taken in to use.

Best Regards,
Viper

Why..?

You can see many ppl support me and share the same feeling... So I think it is very relevant to discuss it. Why just close our eyes and pretend that there aint no problems...?

@viperia
I coundn´t have said it better.

I did.. My original idea was to add a poll. But OG didnt like it.

Hi there.
I use this forum for couple of months already. I am Polish, and don't speak german at all - sorry. However, It happenned, that I even searched through german posts to get some clue. Luckily for us - The Code is universal! I noticed, that sometimes people are posting double language posts - that's great.
I am happy that this forum exists - use as universal language as possible people, but don't argue. This is for sharing. And please - don't delete old posts, especially important ones - with tips & tricks.

ive used the forum allot, way before i registerd and found it very helpfull then. And i must agree, there has been a huge amount of german posts latly, and for an international cms solution, i think this is bad. There should be a standard language and that should be english, since the cms is international, this shouldent be anything to discuss, in my oppinon...
a big thanks to the docu team for doing a great job making it multilangual.
keep it up :)

but anyways, i think we should keep this forum in english, and add an german section to it or something...
