some security set up questions...

Hi,

i did originally post this here http://www.phpwcms.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5024, but think i will get a better response as a seperate post.

i'm developing a website for a school and as this will be the first cms i have set up i just have a couple of questions. there will be alot of people accessing the admin section to update content and i need to be sure that security is tight.

are there any considerations i should be aware of regarding client side security before setting up phpwcms?

are the hosting requirements simply that it is unix based, and have mysql and php installed? are there any other considerations?
i am thiniking of using http://www.compila.com...they seem to offer everything i need to get started with phpwcms, could someone take a look for me?

I also want to provide exclusive content for registered members of the site...is this yet possible or has anyone found a way to implement this?

is there any other advise that anyone could give me of possible issues that i should be aware of before setting up the cms?

i have looked for these issues on the forums and in the documentation, but cannot find the answers for these particular issues.

I don't know much about the security of phpWMCS... but since no one else is answering you queston I will address what I THINK I know:

phpWCMS is not required to be Unix based... I have installed it numerous times on Win XP. It does however require php/mysql.

You probably want the bargin plan from compila.com since it has mysql. The starter plan doesn't have that. It should work just fine.

Exclusive content for registered users is possible with the frontend login patch but is not part of phpWCMS by default yet. It will be in the near future though with the next release from OG.

There are no issues phpWCMS you need to worry about. I highly recommend phpWCMS and it is fully functional with the default install.

i have finally opted to go with some other software due to certain fuctionality in place as default, but will certainly try this one out....it definitely has the best community support and i look forward to future releases.

I hope you do take time to experiment with phpWCMS. It's really come to be a life-saver for me. It doesn't fit for every situation... but once the frontend login is implemented, there will not be much you couldn't use it for.
