Small Problem

Post by tellus »

When I try to create a table, look at it will not go aginst the pagehead, its a space between. how do I take away the space???

http://www.ofelia.nu/~nabil

The ping feild should be resting on the page head without the space...

sorry, don't quite understand.
What is the ping feild?
And do you mean with pagehead the banner that says "CinemAfrica" or the top edge of the page?

Table row

Post by hiegl »

As far as I can see there is a table row below the row that contains the logoindex.jpg. Why did you insert it when you don´t want it to be there?

Code: Select all

<tr>
<td bgcolor="#000000" width="148">&nbsp;</td>
<td bgcolor="#000000" height="3" width="7">&nbsp;</td>
<td bgcolor="#000000" width="99">

It looks like the extra space above the pink area (PA GANG) is caused by the stuff that is highlighted orange below. This space runs below you headder from left to right, not only avive the pink column.

Ignore my last post. spirelli is right. Remove this line to get the pink field in touch with the area above:

Code: Select all

<br><img src="img/leer.gif" width="1" height="8" alt="" /><br />

I have been able to remove this line in conf.template.inc.php but I can´t find where this <br /> is. Look below....

<td valign="top" width="538" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"><table width="100%" border="0" align="left" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr>
<td align="left" valign="top"><a name="jump3"></a><!--
sample custom full article summary template
===========================================

TITLE = article title
SUB = article subtitle
SUMMARY = article summary text
IMAGE = summary image, also click zoomable
CAPTION = summary image caption
DATE = show article date ORPMCET

//-->
<br /><table rules="none" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" frame="void" style="border-style: none; background-image: none; float: none; text-align: left; vertical-align: top; width: 538px; height: 929px;">
<tbody><tr>

Where do I find it????

hmmmm, because that stuff is from the template file in phpwcms_template\inc_cntpart\articlesummary\article, isn't it:

Code: Select all

<!--
sample custom full article summary template
===========================================

TITLE       = article title
SUB         = article subtitle
SUMMARY     = article summary text
IMAGE = summary image, also click zoomable
CAPTION     = summary image caption
DATE = show article date ORPMCET

//-->
As the <br> tag follows right after that I thought that must be where it comes from. You are using your custom tamplate to display the article, right? Eg. sample.tmpl in phpwcms_template\inc_cntpart\articlesummary\article.

I made my own template-file called cineafrica.tmpl and that file is blank, still this <BR /> is turning up....

well, if I look at it now the code in my post above as well as the <br> tag are outside your main content table. So this studd should have nothing to do with your article as I guess you have a complete table layout in your main area of the page template. Witin this table is the {CONTENT} tag, right? So where this code abobe comes from incl the <br> tag I don't know. Are you sure it's not in your template in the admin area? But I guess not...

maybe you can post the contents of the main area of the template you use?

Ahh, the whole table sits in a WYSIWYG editor. Now it's clear also why the code from the .tmpl file is outside the table.

So with regards to the problem it seems that this is all downl to using HTML area. THe BR tag that is included there might well be down to HTMLarea rather than phpwcms. I'd suggest: 1. Try unsing a different editor, or 2. Search the forum for that or post a new thread something like "HTMLarea adds extra line break", or 3. Maybe it would be good in any case to find a solution taking the PA GANG column out of this article and have only the main text in the actual article.

Hope you get somewhere...
