Size limit on articles?

Post by bones »

i've been trying to copy and past a table from MS Word into the WYSIWYG content part of an article, but it always seems to lose half the info.

Is there a limitation on the size of an article?

That shouldn´t be a problem...

But I don´t know how you have formated it... eg try to insert it as plain text....

Sorry to revive this old thread, it's the only one I could find in the forums anyway.

First of all, I'm glad that I'm not the only person who experienced this. And I'm sure there are others who faced the same problem: when using WYSIWYG content part, there seems to be a limit of text to be inserted. When I tried to paste a long article, the text got chopped off somewhere, and I couldn't tell exactly how many characters it allows.

So can anyone confirm how many characters can it fit, or it is a bug?

Hi

the Content goes to 'acontent_HTML' wich is a Text-Field and this has a
Limit by 65535 Char's AFAIK  :?:

Have checked this and it cuts the Text behind 65501 Char's
so split the Content into 2 or more Parts

Thanks for responding pico. Having that said, what if we modify the database field to allow more characters, ie more than 65k, can that be done?

I'm bad with mySQL, but I have the feeling it might be possible. Your thoughts?

Hi

just changing the Datafield to Longtext in the Database don't work :(

seems that there are also the Type of the Variable in the WYSIWYG-Editor or in the Call to the Editor must changed to another Size.

Can't find where :(
