tried changing permissions on conf.indexpage.inc.php but still not showing home in breadcrumbs or {NAV_ROW}

I use an FTP program called Transmit. I'm on a Mac. I assign the permissions in an interface window.

I looked at the database and don't see anything like "home" or index listedin the categories ...

Before I upgraded to the latest version, home always showed up in the nav

now it is missing
