Trouble Logging In

Post by Chris89 »

I uploaded all the files, set the appropiate folders to 777 and files to 666, went through installation, all the boxes at the last step we're green. I clicked on "LOGIN" in the top right corner to log into admin CP, but I get a "The page cannot be found" error when I click Log In after I typed in my username and password. I go to index.php and it's a blank white screen with no text.

Thx in Advance!

I hope I can get this working, the Nuke CMS's all suck and I really need a good CMS for my organizations website. Link is: http://www.cpp.simvision.net/dfgames/.

It is expected that index.php should be blank, as you have not created any templates or content. During installation, did you check 'create admin account'? This could by the problem, although I'm not sure why you're getting 'the page cannot be displayed'.

I just uploaded my files this morning and when I got to the admin account creation, I 'highlighted' the default password and changed it. Just as I clicked for the next page, I noticed my password field appeared to be longer than what I had typed. You can go in through PHPMyadmin and check to see if you have an admin account created and/or change the password. Other than that, this proggy installed beautifully!

Ben: me or Chris? I can log in fine after making the changes; there is another post that has a forum link to show how to make the changes in phpmyadmin.

Ben, I'm very sure I checked that box, but I'll check my DB to see if it's there. I might reinstall it again, from the beginning. If I do, should I delete everything in my DB?

The version I have is "VERSION 1.1-RC4 27-08-2004". This is the third time I've installed phpwcms, I found something I'm curious about in Step 3 of installation. When it says:

this is where small thumbnails are stored; it is located within the templates directory

and then it asks for the thumb_nail list directory, the default is "thumb_list" but there is no directory in the phpwcms_template directory called "thumb_list" or anything about thumbnails, is it supposed to be like this or no?
