1. What about adding the HTMLarea 3.0 (the wysiwyg editor) to the template editor in the fields main, header, fotter, error etc.

2. When you choose "blocks" in page layout it will be more user friendly if when you choose "block" design only the fields need for the block is visible.

These to requests is just to make this wonderfull CMS more userfriendly

Tha'ts a great idea! It would also allow the textareas to be bigger and see more of the code.

My wish is to disable all WYSYWIG editor in phpwcms. I do not like this way of editing. Every block layout is easier to edit in your favourite HTML editor - just copy and paste.

htmlarea is not bad - but it's not compatible on every platform. And I don't like that users are able to change article formatting with that - many people do not know what they are doing - ugly formatting

hmm I understand the problem about formatting - if you want to use one class for articel text - another user can easy change this class by using wysiwyg area .. but then I hope you will enhance the abillity to insert and control images

It is a good idea to have nicely formatted content by default, as much as possible; the upcoming UBB code features, or maybe something better, like Textile, can help produce better formatted text.

You are looking at it whenever you are posting a message on this forum

Have you seen the buttons above the message body?
Click on them and you'll see the UBB code.

You can also click on the "BBCode" link at the bottom left corner of the message post form.

"U" stands for "Uniform" and BB for "Bulletin Board", I think.

Thumbs up Oliver, exactly what I think! With the concept of "content parts" (as seen in Typo3) there is virtually no need for this, and the content can be really separated from the layout.

Many people would think the same way; anyway, you don't have to use it if you don't want to use it. Even if it was available, it would be optional.
But if it is there, then the people who would prefer not to have to edit HTML code, would have the option of using the WYSIWYG editor.

Anyway, not a big deal if it is not there. There are other areas that are a lot more important that could be implemented before adding an WYSIWYG editor like HTMLArea, for instance.

I found an article "Textile vs BBCode" very good I think!
