Deleting surplus files

Post by walnut »

Using v1.7.1 I am trying to delete photos in the "file" section using the private files tab. I recognizes the request to delete the file and asks if I really want to do it, then it does not delete the file or put it in the trash can. Is there a fix for this?

Hard to tell, here it's working as expected and no problem know regarding your version.

Maybe a db upgrade went wrong and required fields are missing.
Also check the error logs to find out what might fail on delete.

Would updating the phpwcms from 1.7.1 to 1.8.6 be likely to help? I did the update to 1.7.1 about a year ago and this problem may have come up at that point as this is the first time we have tried the delete function.

It might help, first logout of the backend, then delete all /content/tmp/*.tmp files. Then open login.php again. Sometimes this helps.

No luck. Still does not delete the file or move it to the trashcan. Thanks for the suggestion.

Then you need to check the PHP error messages or try an upgrade. Do not forget to make backup before…
