Assigning a template to an article

Post by eglwolf »

I have a question on using the templates:

Category 1 - gets template A
Category 2 - get template B

Now if I create an article under category 1, it will also have template A. But why can't I assign a different template to that article? Why be able to assisgn templates to articles and site structure?

Or is there a way to do this and I just don't know how?

well the template used for a given category is set under site structure...

so edit the level and find :
template:

updated: Guess I was to fast....

Templates can only be used for site structures levels...

frold - I think I got it, I create a site structure (category) and then I can assisgn an article to that, so that is how I get the template I want to show for the article I want.

Thanks.

BTW, if you have different templates for each category, there is nothing that prevents you from "cutting" an article from category1(template1) and "pasting" it into category2,3,4,etc(template2,3,4,etc)

you can create a structure for EVERY article then each will have the possibility of any template you choose.

for an article to apear in the menu it needs its own structure anyway so why not? :D
