Hello forum, sorry if I've dupped a post or the answer is out there, I just can't see it.
I've upgraded to the latest version of the software and I'm getting loads of problems, mainly javascript errors when logging into the admin areas.
I backed everything up and let the installation create a new database/tables etc, then I ran Syncronize on the new site and the backed up site to see which files were different, as you know there was loads of changes, so all I changed were the files that I had amended i.e. the config files to change the css etc. etc. I then imported my data from just the hostname_articlecat_another and hostname_article tables.
So to summarise I can't see how I can upgrade easily without any documentation or tuturial doe anyone have any information on upgrading succesfully or a better method I could use. Any answers wouldbe greatful and once again sorry if this is a duplicate post.

Do NOT delete all your hard work and then try to weave a mish mash of past and present code.
After all that backing up and saving... just use unzip the latest phpWCMS archive zip (or tar.gz) right over top of the current install. Then restore your "config.inc.php", "frontend.css", any code hacks that can be properly applied still, and re-do permissions of files and folders.
Finally run "phpwcms/setup/upgrade.php" and delete setup folder when you're sure all has worked
