phpwcms Support Forum

Hello,

this is my first post in this forum so .. hello to everyone!
I have downloaded and installed on my local windows 2003 the latest dev version of phpwcms and I've been playing around with it.

I'd have a few questions for anyone willing to answer:

1) how do I create a navigation menu (vertical or horizontal)???

2) does one have to build everything from scratch in phpwcms or am I missing something??? Other cms provide at least a minimal starting site but at least the dev version seems to be completely missing a starting sample site...

3) how many are developing phpwcms? Did I understand well that it is only Oliver Georgi?

1. First read the Docu (Link in my Footer) there you will find also the basics about the different Navigation-Tags - there are more in this Forum at Hacks&Enhancements

2. yes- there is no Layout in the Script defined at Startup - for first Steps take a look to http://www.phpwcms-templates.de and http://www.peperkorn-online.de (only in German)

3. there is only Oliver Georgi developing the Kernel at the Moment - but there are a Lot of People developing Mod's, Enhancement's and Hack's see here in Forum too

This CMS system looks really powerfull .... too much in fact. Too bad that there is not much documentation around (and most of it is in german). I believe that more material available on this CMS would make it even more successfull.

Having a single person developing the product is also not very good ... if on one side the code quality and coherency might be high, there are also risks involved ... what if Oliver one day gets bored of this project?

those are typically open-source properties. buy software if you want infinite support.

In fact, more than 1 person are developing the CMS, check out this forum and the dev-forums!!

As for documenting: Why won't you write docs and tuts then? You can always get help and support in this forum.
