www.fulvioromanin.it - fcms v0.5 shipping soon

Post by Fulvio Romanin »

Hi everybody
after like 2 portfolio-less years i finally found a free sunday to end up my own site. Here's the address, yet missing some touches:

http://www.fulvioromanin.it

featuring:

- two different sites, html and flash, driven by the VERY SAME content (there are some differences, though, between the sites - check both for more fun...)

- html site with sifr, download counter, vts, backend subpaging and poor man's multilanguage reptags

- flash site with
- lightweight engine; without any content it's about 50k...
- multilanguage feature using same {LANG} markers as html multilanguage (quite smart if you think about it...); as much languages as you want too
- resizable content with dynamically resized scrollbar (with mousewheel control, you have no idea how much time took me to do the darn mousewheel thing!)
- FUSE library template driven look. The newest stuff around, even newer than lacos. Maybe a bit heavier but MUCH MORE powerful.
- selectable and clickable text. We're definitely out of the "one button one page" flash thing. Now, you can just make flash text clickable like normal html text. Template and content will change all alone just reading your link allowing you an endless number of pages and much more content. Try clicking in "faq" around to "contacts page" (bug to correct, the white flash thing)
- images and text loaded via flash 7 text enhancements. You don't have to make routines to preload stuff separately, it all comes together like normal html text.
- built-in mp3 player, reading files from the file list content part. You add mp3s in the backend, and decide order to play and which one.
- xml menu, dynamically tracking backend changes
- built-in dynamic preloader with customizable transitions
- (yet to be implemented, but it's a breeze to do) dynamical dom-compliant projector and page resizer; changes your flash width and height without reloading.

FCMS v0.5 will be made available for free download in the wcms open source community in the days before xmas. I am planning to do a series of tutorial videos to explain its functionalities and use.
FCMS has no GUI: it is a frontend for wcms. Intermediate to advanced actionscripting knowledge is required.

To avoid overcharge of this forum, i opened a custom fcms forum on http://www.fulvioromanin.it/forum to help and be helped by fcms developers.

ROADMAP
i am planning to add in the near future the following features
- search engine (shouldn't be hard to do)
- form integration (should be sensibly harder to do, hopefully julian sander will do that ;))
- table reproduction with attachmovie (insane task, i know...)

FCMS v0.5 has some bugs and redundancies. Please expect to have some work on it. ;)

Thanks to:Oliver Georgi, Alan Mc Donald, John Weare, Julian Sander, Luca Malisan, Giovanni Negro, Gabriele Venier, Tommaso Bagassi, Massimo Perini, Gary Riches, Oliver Frohnert, Marcos Peebles, Jayenne Montana and all the others for their help.

Man, i'm happy. The release of this site was starting to be something eternally procrastinated like the new Guns'n'Roses album....

Hijo,

so many has been said about you and ur work in this forum, what can I add?
I am a fan...
It's great to see how you literally squeeze the juice out of wcms to integrate it with flash and vice-versa ;)

Hip hip hourra, as they say in french, grande Fulvio -como dicen en español- your many hours of work are a blessing for the eye and your kindness a blessing for the soul.

CHEERS MATE! Long live fcms 0.5 (but not too long so 1.0 can come one day ;) but LONG LIVE fulvioromanin.it (and its team)!

Fulvio - I'm so excited for you and thanks for the preview the other day! What you've done with fcms is incredible and I'm sure I'd be even more impressed if I spent more time with Flash. Keep up the great work and congrats on launching your new site.

The flash one is nice but the html one crashed my browser!

Im using Opera:
Version 8.51
Build 7712
Platform Win32
System Windows XP

It stutters then slows to a halt, my computer has Never done that before.

i would have understood if the *flash* did this, which is WAY more processor-intensive, but the html??

did it happen repeatedly? or just once? did it shut down abruptly or gave you some specific error message?

let me know - you're the first to report me this...

my opera crashed too!
or it is extremely slowing down.
the html is rendered badly, the bottom-side breaks out of layout.

but-no matter: in Safari it works very well!

Im using Opera:
Version 8.02
Build 2148
Plattform MacOS X
Betriebssystem 10.4.3
