How do I get the content to show up on web

I succeeded having the phpwcms software up and running on my webhost, I have made one homepage and one subpage, but none of them shows up on the web.
Must they go outside the p...map? And if they must, how do I put them there?
(Think I'm going to be a pain here, but I really tried a lot of reading and testing before I posted this).
