images query

when i upload an image (gif in this case) i get this error...

Fatal error: Call to undefined function imagetypes() in C:\sokkit\site\phpwcms\include\inc_lib\general.inc.php on line 493

the gif file is uploaded and can be seen in the directory...

why is this happening?

this is owing to the fact that GD2 the library (an extention to php that maniupaltes images : i believe) can NOT write gif files as it would infringe copyright laws.

tip: use anything othr than gif for that image
