Hello.
our volunteer organisation needed a free CMS so our website could be updated by those who have the knowledge and data on bats in Sydney, but not the web programming skills. As a result I'm giving phpwcms a go
I've just had a look at some of the websites built using phpwcms
.... and then had another look at my effort
We wanted to use all the screen space and keep the design nice and simple - not too may flashy moving things. Posting it here in case anyone has nothing better to do and wants to give me some pointers on the layout, etc.

Just started on it and phpwcms, the docu and searching this forum is making everything easy so far. Got to call JPGRAPH.php from phpwcms next, guessing {PHP:my_external_PHP_script.php} will do this nicely!
cheers,
John.

Hi,
I noticed you didn't have a reply yet... I think a web page about bats is a great topic! Who wouldn't want to visit this one..?
Seriously though, I think the design looks good and is easy to follow. Some of the graphics look like they have been a bit over compressed. (eg the writing on the picture on this page http://www.sydneybats.org.au/cms/index.php?where is a bit pixelated). You might want to play around with these. It should be possible to get them clear and small...
How do your volunteer writers and editors go using the CMS? Did you have to spend much time training them on it? What resources did you give them to get them started? Has providing help support to them cost you much time? I ask as I have been asked to do a few freeby sites for volunteer organisations too.
Cheers,
Rishi.
